On April 8, 2000,  a town meeting was held in the Teachers College auditorium of Columbia University, in New York City, to organize a Commission to investigate the causes of the “New Violence,” (background), an initiative proposed by Lyndon LaRouche in the aftermath of the March, 2000 “not guilty” verdict in the trial of four New York policemen who, on Feb 4, 1999, shot the unarmed, and unresisting, West African immigrant Amadou Diallo.  Satellite hook up meetings were held in Los Angeles, Detroit, Washington, DC and other cities, and the proceedings were carried live on the internet.

The meeting, which was keynoted by Lyndon H. LaRouche,  was moderated by Dennis Speed, the Northeast coordinator of the Schiller Institute. The panel of speakers included Jeffrey Steinberg, co author of “Dope Inc” , and editor of Executive Intelligence Review, Minister Charles Quinn Muhammad, former head of NOI (Nation Of Islam) in Jackson, Mississippi, Sister Esther Muhammad, former head of the NAACP in Mississippi,  Dr. Kildare Clark, assistant medical  director of Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn;  Matthew Fogg, chief inspector deputy, US Marshall, and founder of the Congress Against Racism and Corruption in Law Enforcement; and also Pennsylvania State Rep. Harold James, former head of the state's Legislative Black Caucus.

The National Commission Against the New Violence was formed at an all-day meeting on May 20, 2000,at Columbia University in New York City. The keynote speaker, Lyndon LaRouche, was joined by a panel including  Lt. Col. David Grossman, well known teacher and lecturer, and author of the books “Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill:  a Call To Action Against TV, Movie and Video Game Violence” and “On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill In War and Society” ; Pa. State Representative Harold  James, himself a 22 year veteran of the Philadelpha police force; Minister Charles Quinn Muhammad and Sister Esther Muhammad, of Jackson; Mississippi,  Matthew Fogg, Dr. Kildare Clark, and Jeffrey  Steinberg.

After the Commission was formed, another meeting was called  in the nation's capitol, on June 3, 2000,  and keynoted by Helga Zepp LaRouche, founder and Chairwoman of the International Schiller Institute.  In addition to some of the Commission's initiators, speeches were presented by Michele Steinberg, of Executive Intelligence Review (EIR) and former editor of War On Drugs magazine, and Dr. Alim Muhammad, spokesman for the Nation of Islam (NOI) , and  director of the Abundant Life Clinic in Washington D.C. )

The Commission Against the New violence promises to become a very  formidable weapon in the battle against the New Age “technetronic violence” is becoming more commonplace in America, and throughout the world, largely through the influence of violent movies and video games .

The Mark of the Beast”

VIDEO-GAME VIOLENCE TURNS CHILDREN INTO KILLERS

Imagine a 14-year old boy who had never shot a gun before, shot eight classmates with eight bullets, Police were stunned. How could he do it?

The boy was trained, by his addiction to video-game violence. From “Pokémon” to “Doom,” America's children are being turned into monsters, who kill -- for the fun of it.

Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in this 1 hour and 40 minute video, The Mark of the Beast, exposes the evil which is hitting everybody's hometown, and to which most parents remain oblivious. She traces the decline of American culture since World War II, and links the insane strategic and economic policies of the financier oligarchy and its war planners, to the mass brainwashing of youth by video and TV violence.
