March 19, 2014 (EIRNS)--Beijing Review, the prestigious Chinese English-language magazine, ran a three-minute video clip on their web site March 17 from a longer interview they had conducted with Helga Zepp-LaRouche in Beijing on February 20th. In the clip, Zepp-LaRouche underlines the epoch-making importance of President Xi Jinping's proposal for the creation of a Silk Road Economic Belt. She explains the importance of the proposal in bringing the nations of Central Asia into the mainstream of the world economy and raising the standard of life of the peoples of Eurasia.

More importantly, she notes, this would promote and be incorporated into a broader World Landbridge that would bring together the peoples of several continents in a global process of economic development. If we can overcome the present war danger, Zepp-LaRouche said, such a project would open for mankind a new epoch of civilization. ``We need to change the present paradigm, she said. ``We have to stop all geopolitical thinking and focus on the common aims of mankind."

The Beijing Review web site also carried a reply from Zepp-LaRouche regarding the present tension in Chinese-Japanese relations. Zepp-LaRouche said that the present provocative policies of the Abe Government would not have occurred without the backing of the United States, noting also that the U.S.overreaction to the earlier Chinese declaration of an Air Defense Identification Zone, which many countries have instituted, also brought to people's attention how close we are to the danger of war.
